Carmel Valley Ranch Resort

The Carmel Valley Ranch, recently purchased and completely remodeled in 2010, is once again a premiere California resort. Under the guidance of John Pritzker, he has created a vision that is perfect for a romantic getaway combining the luxuries of a full-service resort with the comforts and charm of a country inn. It is not just a hotel but a destination resort located on nearly 500 acres in the "sun belt" area of the Monterey Peninsula. 

 

The hotel features 140 spacious guest suites and all of them feature a fireplace and private balcony (with a variety of views from the surrounding countryside to their 18 hole championship golf course). With the remodel, the rooms have a bit of a clean, crisp, contemporary country type of feel. Each guest room is a minimum of 800 square feet - so you definitely have room to spread out, relax and enjoy each others company and the serenity of your surroundings. All guest rooms feature a 42 inch flat-screen TV with Blu-ray player, ipod docking station/radio, limestone bathroom with separate shower and soaking tub, wi-fi internet access, Keurig coffee makers, plush robes and a complimentary paper delivered to your door.

 

Although the hotel is not in the center of any of the Monterey Peninsula's major cities, it is just about a 12-15 minutes drive from downtown Carmel and about a 20 minutes drive from downtown Monterey. Within a very short drive from the resort is quaint Carmel Valley Village with a variety of wine tasting rooms and cozy restaurants. Located right on property is golf, tennis (hard and clay courts), a full-service spa, two outdoor heated pools, an expansive fitness center and hiking and biking trails. Their on-site restaurant has an excellent reputation and is frequented by locals for its quality of cuisine and views.
