Hotel Adagio

This hotel, located near Union Square and in the heart of the theater district, has a very clean, contemporary and crisp look to it. Upon entering the lobby, we weren't quite sure what to expect as the space on the first floor is fairly plain. It's not a space you would want to spend a lot of time in (although their Bar Adagio is beautiful - and hip - and a great place to gather before heading out for a romantic dinner.

Once heading up to the main guest room floors (there are 171 rooms on 16 floors so guest are well-spaced) and walking down the halls, you start to feel more and more relaxed. We were told that this is an urban boutique hotel. The guest rooms are decorated with earthy and warm tones of brown, tan and orange hues. The overall design is of a Spanish Mediterranean theme. If you choose to do a romantic room design for your special couples getaway, it will definitely "pop" against this delicate palette of colors. 80 of their guest rooms feature dramatic views of San Francisco (much in part to the fact there are no super tall buildings right alongside the hotel). Each guest room features a 32 inch Hi-Def LCD Tv, honor bar with refrigerator, Egyptian cotton linens, bathrobes, Lather bath amenities and an iHome or Cambridge Sound system.

Overall, this is a very handsome looking hotel - and a perfect fit for a couple looking for a great place to stay without too many distractions.
